Abstract

A DESCRIPTION OF THE INCIDENCE OF URINARY TRACT INFECTION IN TYPE 2 DIABETES MELLITUS PATIENT AT PUSKESMAS I DENPASAR BARAT ABSTRACT Background Diabetes mellitus is a group of metabolic diseases characterized by hyperglycemia. Hyperglycemia has an opposite effect on the immune system causing a high incidence of infection in diabetes mellitus. The most common infections in patients with diabetes mellitus are urinary tract infections. Urinary tract infection (UTI) is an inflammatory reaction of urothelium cells that line the urinary tract due to the proliferation of microorganisms. The purpose of this study is to determine the incidence of UTI in type 2 diabetes mellitus patient at Puskesmas I Denpasar Barat. The study was conducted from February to May 2022 with population of 1649 people and sample of 30 people. The method used in this study is a type of descriptive research with non-probability sampling technique by accidental sampling method. Examination of respondent's urine sample was done by urine culture with standard loop method. The result of this study indicate 10% of type 2 diabetes mellitus patient had calculated colony >105 CFU/ml which can be indicated as UTI. The conclusion is the incidence of UTI was most prevalent in female patient at the age group 45-60 years, which are in the 6th-10th years of having type 2 diabetes mellitus, patient with elementary and high school for last education, and in patient who change underwear twice or more per day and clean the external urinary tract from the front to the back. GAMBARAN KEJADIAN INFEKSI SALURAN KEMIH PADA PASIEN DIABETES MELITUS TIPE 2 DI PUSKESMAS I DENPASAR BARAT ABSTRAK Latar belakang Diabetes melitus merupakan suatu kelompok penyakit metabolik dengan karakteristik hiperglikemia. Hiperglikemia memiliki efek berlawanan dengan sistem imun, menyebabkan tingginya kejadian infeksi pada diabetes melitus. Infeksi saluran kemih merupakan salah satu infeksi yang paling sering terjadi pada pasien diabetes melitus. Infeksi saluran kemih (ISK) adalah reaksi inflamasi sel urotelium yang melapisi saluran kemih akibat proliferasi mikroorganisme. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui kejadian ISK pada pasien diabetes melitus tipe 2 di Puskesmas I Denpasar Barat. Penelitian dilakukan pada bulan Februari sampai Mei 2022 dengan jumlah populasi 1649 orang dan sampel sebanyak 30 orang. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian deskriptif dengan teknik non-probability sampling secara accidental sampling. Pemeriksaan sampel urin responden dilakukan dengan kultur urine metode ose standar. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan 10% penderita diabetes melitus tipe 2 memiliki jumlah hitung koloni >105 CFU/ml yang mengindikasikan adanya ISK. Simpulan kejadian ISK paling banyak terjadi pada pasien wanita pada kelompok usia 45-60 tahun, dengan lama mengidap penyakit DM tipe 2 selama 6-10 tahun, pendidikan terakhir SD, SMP dan SMA, serta pada pasien yang mengganti pakaian dalam dua kali atau lebih per hari dan membersihkan saluran kemih bagian luar dari depan ke belakang. Kata Kunci : Infeksi Saluran Kemih (ISK), pasien diabetes melitus tipe 2, kultur urine.
