Abstract
A prominent problem related to the delivery process is the high number of cesarean sections (SC) in Indonesia. Based on the empirical experience of the researcher, the choice of an action delivery method occurs due to maternal anxiety about childbirth. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the anxiety level of third-trimester pregnant women and the mother's choice of delivery method. The research was carried out from April-May 2022 at the Batubulan Kangin Public Health Center. The research design used is correlation analytic with a cross-sectional method. The sample size was 38 pregnant women in the third trimester without considering fetal factors and pregnant women. The type of data used is primary data through the provision of questionnaires to respondents. There were 20 pregnant women (52.6%) who experienced anxiety and 26 (68.4%) pregnant women who chose delivery by action (SC). The analysis test used the chi-square test with the interpretation of the results p = 0.020. The conclusion of the study is that there is a relationship between the level of anxiety of pregnant women in the third trimester and the choice of the method of delivery by the mother. Suggestions that can be given to officers at the puskesmas and related parties are to provide continuous assistance to pregnant women, especially when they are about to give birth.
