Abstract
Pregnant women in the third trimester are expected to be ready for labor planning and prevention of complications and one of them is postnatal contraception. One type of long-term contraceptive methods (MKJP) is implant contraceptives, but the coverage of implant use is very low compared to intrauterine devices (AKDR). The purpose of the study was to find out the relationship between knowledge of third trimester pregnant women about implant contraceptives and the selection of implant contraceptives in the working area of UPTD Puskesmas Blahbatuh I. The design of this study was a correlational analytic with a cross sectional approach. The population of this study was all the third trimester pregnant women in UPTD Puskesmas Blahbatuh I. Samples were taken by purposive sampling numbered 64 people. Data collection with questionnaires, statistical tests using chi-square tests. The p value result in this study was 0.609 > 0.05, which was assumed to be rejected hypothesis that there was no knowledge relationship with implant selection. The results of the study showed that most respondents who knew about implant contraceptives did not choose implant contraceptives (34.4%). Respondents who didn't know about implanted contraception also mostly did not choose implanted contraceptives (31.2%). The conclusion of this study was that there was no relationship between the knowledge of third trimester pregnant women about implant contraceptives and the selection of implant contraceptives. Health workers should increase health promotion activities for pregnant women in the third trimester about postnatal contraception, especially about implant contraceptives.
