Abstract

Today, Indonesia is facing one of the most important problems, namely population explosion. The National Population and Family Planning Agency (BKKBN) invites all parties to work together to control the rate of population growth with the Family Planning program. Based on data from Riskesdas for the Province of Bali in 2018, the highest hormonal family planning acceptors were 31.38% injectable contraceptive acceptors. This contraceptive has several side effects such as menstrual disorders, vaginal discharge, weight gain, and so on. Menstrual disorders that occur in the form of polymenorrhea, oligomenorrhea, amenorrhea, hypermenorrhea, and hypomenorrhea. The purpose of this study was to obtain an overview of menstrual disorders in depo medroxy progesterone acetate (DMPA) injection acceptors. This type of research is descriptive quantitative. The implementation of this research in March-April 2022 with accidental sampling technique with a sample of 75 people. Collecting data by conducting interviews using interview guidelines. Data analysis used univariate in the form of frequency distribution. The results showed that most of the respondents experienced amenorrhea as many as 31 respondents (41.33%), hypomenorrhea as many as 25 respondents (33.33%), oligomenorrhea as many as 13 respondents (17.34%), and hypermenorrhea as many as 6 respondents (8 %). The conclusion of this study is that the majority of DMPA injection acceptors have menstrual disorders in the form of amenorrhea.
