Abstract
THE RELATION OF FAMILY SUPPORT ON EXCLUSIVE BREASTFEEDING AT UPTD PUSKESMAS TEGALLALANG I ABSTRACT Family support is an attitude shown by the family in the form of an attitude. Attitude is a closed reaction or response from a person to a stimulus or object. Attitude has not become an action or activity, but the predisposition to the action of a behavior. Family support is the external factor that has the biggest influence on the success of exclusive breastfeeding. Exclusive breastfeeding is a breast milk that is given to babies since birth until six months, without adding and/or replacing with other foods or drinks (except drugs, vitamins and minerals). Breast milk contains colostrum which is rich of antibodies because it contains protein for the immune system and is useful for killing high numbers of germs so that exclusive breastfeeding can reduce the risk of death in infants. The success of exclusive breastfeeding is closely related to family support. The purpose of this study was to determine the relation between family support and exclusive breastfeeding at the UPTD Puskesmas Tegallalang I. The research subjects were mothers who had babies 6-12 months old. The number of samples in this study were 76 people. With a cross-sectional research design. The results of the Chi-Square test show that there is a relationship between the independent variable and the dependent variable. The conclusion of this study is that there is a relationship between family support and exclusive breastfeeding at the UPTD Puskesmas Tegallalang I.
