Abstract

Maternal mortality rate (MMR) is one indicator to see the success of maternal health efforts. Maternal mortality is characterized by non-technical matters which fall into the category of fundamental causes, such as the low level of knowledge, attitudes and behavior of pregnant women. The results of a preliminary study conducted at PMB Dr. Putu Mastiningsih, S.ST., SH., M.Biomed most pregnant women know about self hypnosis. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between knowledge and attitudes about self hypnosis in third trimester primigravida pregnant women. This type of study is a correlational analytic study with a cross-sectional approach. Implementation in March 2021 with the Non Probability Sampling technique with the purposive sampling method. The sample consisted of 40 people. Data collection using a questionnaire. Data analysis used univariate in the form of frequency distribution and bivariate using the Spearman rank correlation test. The results showed that of the 40 respondents, most of the respondents had good knowledge with a positive attitude about self hypnosis, as many as 22 people (55%). The spearman rank correlation statistical test shows that the knowledge variable with attitude can be seen with a p value of 0.000 (p <0.05) so that it can be concluded that there is a relationship between knowledge and attitudes about self-hypnosis in primigravida trimester III pregnant women. The r value of 0.755 indicates a strong correlation between the knowledge variable and the attitude, the correlation coefficient value is positive, indicating that the better the knowledge about self hypnosis, the more positive the attitude about self hypnosis. To maintain the knowledge and attitudes of mothers about self-hypnosis, midwives can provide counseling on the importance of doing self-hypnosis to pregnant women.
