Abstract

ABSTRACT THE RELATIONSHIP OF DIET KNOWLEDGE AND COMPLIANCE WITH THE BLOOD SUGAR LEVELS OF DIABETES MELLITUS PATIENTS (REVIEW OF LITERATUR) Background and purpose : Diabetes mellitus is a type of degenerative disease that cannot be cured, which is caused by a lack of insulin suplly which result in an increase in blood sugar levels. The success of diabetes mellitus management depends on thebehavior of people with diabetes mellitus. There are several factors that worsen blood sugar levels, namely the level of lack of knowledge and decreased adherence to the therapy being carried out. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between knowledge and dietary compliance with blood sugar levels in patients with diabetes mellitus. Methods : this research is a qualitative research using the literature study method (Literature Study) by collecting information from 10 journals studied. Result : the average level of knowledge and compliance of patients with diabetes mellitus from the 10 journals studied was still lacking so that the resulting blood sugar levels were not controlled. Conclusion : of the 10 journals studied, there is a relationship between knowledge and patient compliance with blood sugar. Keywords : knowledge, compliance, and blood sugar levels.
