Abstract

Inffective Breathing Pattern Nursing Care In Patient With Pneumonia In The Emergency Room Sanjiwani In 2021 ABSTRACT Pneumonia is a disease accompanied by shortness of breath. The presence of an etiologic agent that enters the lungs will cause an infectious process and the formation of sputum which results in obstruction of the tracheobroncheal tree, the presence of an inflammatory process will cause difficulty in breathing. This can lead to an ineffective breathing pattern in patients with pneumonia. The purpose of this paper is to determine nursing care in pneumonia patients with ineffective breathing patterns. This case study uses the method of 2 patients managed with a nursing care approach. The results of the writing on the assessment showed that there were similarities between subjective data and objective data, namely the presence of shortness of breath, tachypnea breathing patterns, prolonged expiratory phase, additional wheezing breath sounds and nostril breathing. Planning is prepared in accordance with the SLKI and SIKI references, as well as interventions for providing semi-fowler positions based on evidence-based practice. The implementation provided includes observation, therapeutic, education and collaboration. Evaluation in both patients showed decreased shortness of breath, improved inspiratory and expiratory phases, normal respiratory rate and normal breathing pattern. Giving the semi-Fowler position is very influential on changes in the patient's breathing pattern and breathing frequency. The provision of semi-Fowler's position is recommended for health workers and can be applied to pneumonia patients with ineffective breathing patterns. Keywords: pneumonia, breathing pattern
