Abstract

Nursing Care for Hypothermia in Postoperative With Lateral Inguinal Hernia in The Recovery Room Sanjiwani Hospital Gianyar In 2021 Hernia is one of the surgical cases that generally often cause health problems and require surgery. Common complaints that usually occur in patients who are recovering after surgery are pain in the operating area, nausea and vomiting due to various medications and shivering due to hypothermia. This study aims to determine nursing care for hypothermia in postoperative lateral inguinal hernia patients with intravenous warm fluids. This study uses a case study approach on two subjects at the Central Surgical Installation of the Sanjiwani Hospital, Gianyar. The results of the study at the assessment stage carried out by researchers obtained subjective data results, namely the subject said he felt cold. While the results of the objective data are the subject looks shivering, the skin feels cold, and the body temperature is below the normal value. Based on the assessment data, the diagnosis that can be formulated in both subjects is hypothermia. The action taken is the administration of intravenous warm fluids. The evaluation obtained after being given nursing care for 1 x 1 hour the nursing problem of hypothermia was resolved. The conclusion of giving warm intravenous fluids is that this therapy can increase thermoregulation so that it improves in postoperative lateral inguinal hernia patients who experience hypothermia.
