The purpose of this study to determine the pattern of nutrient intake and infectious diseases associated with chronic energy deficiency in pregnant women conducted for 4 months, 2018 in the work area of the Puskesmas Selat, Karangasem regency. The data collected are CED data, consumption pattern covers different types of food, the amount of energy consumption level and protein and frequency of feeding infectious diseases include environmental sanitation and personal hygiene. Furthermore, the data are analyzed descriptively by using frequency table and cross table. The results of this study found the prevalence of pregnant women CED 18.9% and normal pregnant women 81.1%. The average energy consumption of pregnant women was 1989.4 kcal (SD ± 333.5), the result of energy consumption level 54.7% was 28.3% less and 17.0% deficit. The average protein intake was 66.3 grams (SD ± 10.1), the result of moderate consumption rate of 54.7% and 45.3% deficit. Infectious disease data 15.1% had infectious diseases and 84.9% never had infectious diseases. Environmental sanitation in 80.0% CED pregnant women is good and normal pregnant women 90.0% good. Personal hygiene in pregnant women with 80.0% good CED and normal 97.7% good pregnant women. The tendency of low energy and protein consumption will increase CED occurrence. Therefore it is necessary counseling and nutrition counseling about balanced nutrition and CED hazard for mother and fetus it contains, and the need of cross-sector and cross-program involvement to decrease CED prevalence.
