Abstract
Chronic Kidney Failure is a kidney function disorder in which the kidneys fail to maintain metabolism and fluid balance in the body. The prevalence of chronic kidney failure in Indonesia has increased in 2018 which is 0.38%. The purpose of this study was to determine nursing care for hypervolemia in patients. The results showed that both patients had peripheral edema. The nursing diagnosis established in both patients was hypervolemia related to impaired regulatory mechanisms as evidenced by edema in the legs. An innovative intervention combined with pharmacological therapy that is given to help reduce the degree of edema is Ankle Pumping Exercise to reduce edema in patients with chronic kidney failure. The evaluation obtained after being given nursing care for 2 x 24 hours is a reduction in the degree of edema which proves that the combination of providing innovative ankle pumping exercise techniques with effective pharmacological therapy is given to hypervolemic patients. It can be concluded that giving ankle pumping exercise can reduce the degree of edema in CKD patients. Suggestions given to nurses in the room or further researchers are to consider programmed Ankle Pumping Exercise physical exercise.
