Abstract
The pressures of life that are experienced today have led to an increase in the quality and quantity of human mental-emotional disorders. One form of mental disorder is violent behavior. Violent behavior is a condition in which a person commits an action that is physically harmful to himself, others and the environment. Techniques that can be done to reduce violent behavior include relaxation such as progressive relaxation. Progressive relaxation exercises are performed by concentrating on differentiating the sense of comfort that occurs when tension is released so that the patient can control the tension when the desire for violent behavior arises. This scientific work aims to analyze nursing care in patients at risk of violent behavior given progressive muscle relaxation therapy. The author provides training to male patients aged 41 years, married, junior high school education, and not working. Progressive muscle relaxation therapy is given for 7 days in the afternoon at 16.00 wita for 10-15 minutes. The results of the evaluation after being given progressive muscle relaxation therapy, the patient revealed the ability to control the desire for violent behavior. The patient said he felt better and was calmer. The author hopes that progressive muscle relaxation therapy is applied routinely and on a scheduled basis in treating patients at risk of violent behavior.
