Abstract
THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE ATMOSPHERE OF THE TREATMENT ROOM AND THE LENGTH OF STAY WITH PATIENT’S FOOD WASTE IN THE HOSPITAL ABSTRACT The success of a nutritional service in an inpatient room is evaluated by observing the patient's food waste. The hospital's minimum service standard requires that the patient's food waste be not more than 20%. Factors that influence the occurrence of food waste for patients at the hospital include the atmosphere of the treatment room and the length of stay. The purpose of writing this thesis is to determine the relationship between the atmosphere of the treatment room and the length of stay with the patient's food waste at the hospital. This thesis is a scientific writing using a literature study approach. The number of literature that will be studied is 16 journals. Literature searches were carried out through databases (Google Scholar, Google Pubmed, and Research gate). The subjects of this study were inpatients at the hospital. The research data includes data on the characteristics of the respondents (gender, age) food waste, the atmosphere of the treatment room and the length of stay obtained from the journals under study then tabulated and analyzed qualitatively. The results of literature search found that the patient's food waste ranged from 14.79% - 50%. Based on the analysis, 3 journals stated that there was a significant relationship between the atmosphere of the treatment room with patient’s food waste and 4 journals stated that there was a significant relationship between the length of stay and patient’s food waste at the hospital (p = <0.05).
