Abstract

NURSING CARE FOR ACUTE PAIN OF PEDIATRIC PATIENT WITH ACUTE APPENDICITIS IN THE EMERGENCY ROOM SANJIWANI GIANYAR HOSPITAL 2021 ABSTRACT Appendicitis is an inflammation of the vermiform appendix due to an inefficient self-emptying mechanism of the vermiform appendix. Pain as a characteristic symptom that appears, appendicitis pain management is done with pharmacological and non-pharmacological therapies such as using distraction techniques watching cartoon videos. The purpose of this paper is to analyze acute pain care in pediatric patients with watching cartoon videos as distraction technique in Emergency Room of Sanjiwani Hospital 2021. This Study using a descriptive method with collection techniques case study data which was carried out on May 3rd to May 21st, 2021. The results Showed major and minor data in both patients included complaints of pain, grimacing, protective attention, increased pulse rate, and altered appetite. The diagnosis based on the results of the assessment in both patients was acute pain made with decreased pain outcome.The implementation is watching cartoon videos as distraction technique is to present a distraction technique watching cartoon videos. The evaluation results after being given care for 2 hours was that the patient's pain level decreased. The conclusion from intervention of cartoon video distraction technique can reduce the pain scale in pediatric patients with acute appendicitis. Keywords: Acute Pain, Appendicitis, Children
