Abstract

Baby massage is a direct contact therapy with the body that can provide a feeling of security and comfort to babies. The Health Profile of Gianyar Regency states that the achievement of health promotion regarding the application of Infant Massage has not been fulfilled, only 55% of the application of infant massage is carried out. The purpose of this study was to determine the description of knowledge and attitudes of mothers about infant massage in Sukawati village, Sukawati sub-district, Gianyar regency. Descriptive research method using cross sectional approach. The implementation in March - April 2021 used probability sampling techniques with the simple random sampling method, with a total sample of 62 people. Online data collection by means of a questionnaire via google form. Univariate data analysis of the form of frequency distribution. The results of the research conducted in Sukawati Village with a total of 62 respondents, 31 people with good knowledge (50.0%), 22 people with sufficient knowledge (35.5%), and 9 people with less knowledge (14.5%). Meanwhile, most of the mothers' attitudes about infant massage were (50.0%) good knowledge, which had negative attitudes (50%). So the conclustion of the description of the knowledge and attitudes of mothers about baby massage in the village of Sukawati, Sukawati district, Gianyar regency, shows that there is good knowledge with a positive attitude. Suggestions for this research are to be useful for mothers, health centers and educational institutions.
