Abstract
Femur fracture is a discontinuity of the femoral bone tissue, clinically the condition of femur fracture can be an open femur fracture with soft tissue damage (muscle, skin, nerve tissue and blood vessels). Closed femur fracture which can be caused by trauma to the bone of femur. The clinical manifestation of femoral fracture patients is acute pain. Pain management can be done with pharmacological and non-pharmacological therapy, one of the non-pharmacological pain management is music therapy. The purpose of writing this case study is to be able to apply nursing care to acute pain patients in preoperative femoral fracture cases with music therapy in the preparation room of OK Wing Amerta RSUP Sanglah Denpasar. The case study was carried out on 2 patients who complained of pain in the femur, grimacing, restlessness, being protective, increasing pulse frequency, increasing blood pressure. The intervention given was music therapy for 15 minutes in 1 session, from the evaluation results after the provision of music therapy obtained data on complaints and decreased pain scale, decreased grimacing, decreased anxiety, improved pulse frequency, improved blood pressure, decreased protective attitude, decreased diaphoresis. The evaluation results show that music therapy can reduce pain intensity in patients with acute pain of femoral fractures. Keywords : Fracture of femur, acute pain, music therapy
