Abstract
Hypothermia is a condition in which the body temperature is below the normal range of the body. Postoperative femoral neck fracture patients are patients who are prone to hypothermia, because it is associated with a long operation, low temperature in the operating room, wide incision, decreased muscle activity, old age or drug agents used, such as anesthetics. and requires fluids to clean the surgical wound. This condition requires serious treatment because hypothermia can increase oxygen demand, increase the intensity of pain in the surgical wound, increase the risk of bleeding, the risk of infection, chills, shock, decrease the patient's comfort level and even death. The purpose of writing this scientific paper is to analyze the use of blanket warmers in postoperative femoral neck fracture patients with hypothermia in the Recovery Room OK Wing Sanglah Hospital. The method used is a case study by providing nursing care to patients with post femoral neck fractures who experience hypothermia for 60 minutes with the intervention of giving a blanket warmer when the patient enters the Recovery Room. The results of monitoring the use of a blanket warmer for 60 minutes, the patient's body temperature improves (back to normal), the skin temperature improves and does not shiver. The conclusion that can be drawn is that the use of blanket warmers is effective to treat hypothermia in postoperative femoral neck fracture patients.
