Abstract
Pneumonia is an acute lower respiratory tract infection with cough symptoms and is accompanied by shortness of breath caused by infectious agents such as viruses, bacteria, mycoplasma (fungi), and aspiration of foreign substances, in the form of pneumonia accompanied by exudation and consulidation. One of the problems that are often experienced by pneumonia patients is inadequate sputum production. Inhalation of mint leaves is an effort to help expel phlegm and keep the lungs clean. Nur's final scientific work aims to analyze the ineffective airway clearing nursing care for Mr. WR with mint leaf inhalation in the Legong Room of RSD Mangusada. The data collection method in this case report uses interviews with clients, family and room nurses, observations on clients, direct physical examinations and documentation or literature studies. Patient’s result who has a history of active smoking with complaints of shortness of breath accompanied by a cough that is difficult to expel phlegm, there is additional ronchi breath sound, wheezing, dyspnea, orthopnea. Given the effective cough training intervention and airway management, the result of the evaluation of airway clearance increased.
