Abstract
Appendicitis is an inflammation of the appendix vermiformis which is known by the layman as appendicitis. Appendectomy is surgery to remove the appendix as soon as possible to reduce the risk of perforation. One of the non-pharmacological techniques that can be used to help reduce pain is music therapy which has the aim of helping to express feelings, assisting physical rehabilitation, having a positive influence on mood and emotions, improving memory and providing unique opportunities for interaction and building emotional closeness. The purpose of this Ners scientific paper is to find out nursing care for acute pain in post appendectomy patients in the Wijaya Kusuma room, Sanglah Hospital Denpasar. The report on the case of the main malaise was carried out from April 5 to April 8, 2020 in the Wijaya Kusuma room, Sanglah Hospital, Denpasar. The results of the case study show that by giving music therapy, the pain scale of the post appendectomy patient decreased from a pain scale of 6 to 3. The results of this scientific work are expected to be used as a non-pharmacological therapy, namely the provision of music therapy in post appendectomy patients.
