Abstract

Hypothermic Nursing Care for Patients with Post-Operative BPH Turp in the IBS Recovery Room at Sanjiwani Hospital, Gianyar, 2021 ABSTRACT BPH patients who did not show improvement after non-surgical therapy will be advised to undergo surgery. TURP was the management of surgical that can be done in this case. Complications that could arise both intra and postoperatively were hypothermia due to the low exposure to environmental temperatures and anesthesia's side effects. The purpose of this scientific work was to describe nursing care for hypothermia in BPH patients after TURP surgery, including nursing assessments to nursing evaluations by providing a warm infusion fluid innovation intervention in the IBS recovery room at Sanjiwani Hospital in 2021. A descriptive research method was used in this study by using a technic of collecting the data of the case study that carried out from April 12th to 30th 2021. Nursing assessments on two patients were had common in similarity, namely complaining of cold, shivering, and the body's temperature was below normal. The nursing diagnosis that formulated was hypothermia which related to low exposure to environmental temperatures. The planning referred to IDHS, SIKI, and SLKI. The selected nursing intervention was the management of hypothermia with a criterion of the result of thermoregulation improvement. The nursing implementation was carried out for 1 x 45 minutes. The results of the evaluation showed that the administration of warm infusion therapy was effective in improving thermoregulation in postoperative patients.
