Abstract
Fracture is a loss of bone continuity either due to trauma, pressure or because of a pathological abnormality. Treating fractures can be done with a surgical procedure called Open Reduction Internal Fixation. Complications from surgery are hypothermia that occurs as a result of exposure to cold ambient temperatures, the effect of anesthesia. The purpose of this scientific paper is to describe and analyze hypothermic nursing care in patients with postoperative ORIF including nursing assessments to nursing evaluations in the OK Recovery Room at Sanjiwani Hospital in 2021. This study uses descriptive methods with data collection techniques, documentation study through two nursing care reports which carried out on 12-30 April 2021. The results of this study found: the nursing assessment of the two cases managed had similarities, namely the patient complained of chills, body temperature below normal values and cold skin. Nursing diagnoses is hypothermia which associated with exposure to low ambient temperatures. Nursing planning uses hypothermic management interventions with the aim of improving thermoregulation. Nursing implementation that has been carried out refers to nursing planning and implementing innovative warm blanket interventions. There was an increase in body temperature in the patient after being given hypothermic nursing care, the patient did not appear to shiver. Giving a warm blanket is effectively used to overcome the problem of hypothermia in postoperative patients in the OK Recovery Room. Key words: hypothermia, nursing care, postoperative ORIF
