Abstract

Appendectomy is an inflamed appendix surgery. Surgery causes changes in the continuity of body tissues that cause pain. Acute pain can worsen the patient's condition, with medical therapy such as giving analgesics sometimes not enough to overcome the patient's pain. Music therapy as a relaxation technique is used to cure diseases by using certain rhythms. The purpose of writing this scientific paper is to find out the description of acute pain nursing care for Mr. P who experienced a post appendectomy in the Nusa Indah room at Bangli General Hospital in 2021. The method used was a case study in the form of nursing care. Nursing assessment found surgical wound pain, grimacing, increased pulse, increased blood pressure. The nursing diagnosis is acute pain as evidenced by the patient complaining of pain, grimacing, pulse increases, blood pressure increases. The nursing plan is carried out 2x24 hours with the patient's outcome not grimacing, pain is reduced, pulse is improving, blood pressure is improving. Nursing implementation includes pain management with a focus on music therapy actions. The type of music used in music therapy can be adjusted to the wishes, such as classical music, instrumental and slow music. The nursing evaluation obtained data that pain decreased, pulse improved, blood pressure improved. In conclusion, giving music therapy helps control acute pain experienced by patients with post appendectomy. Suggestion, nurses can provide music therapy to help control acute pain in post appendectomy patients. blood pressure improves.
