Abstract
Long term treatment in patients with Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia is to perform surgery. One of the most common measures performed on patients with Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia is Transurethral Resection Of the Prostate surgery (TURP). The psychological response that usually occurs in preoperative patients is anxiety. Anxiety in preoperative patients can lead to delayed surgery, length of recovery, increased postoperative pain, reduced immunity to infection, increased use of analgesics after surgery and increased time for hospitalization. Anxiety can lead to increased blood pressure, pulse rate, body temperature, and decreased endurance. The relaxation of handheld fingers can reduce physical and emotional tension as it facilitates the flow of energy in the body. The purpose of this nurse’s final scientific paper aims to analyze nursing care in Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia patients with preoperative TURP in Central Surgical Room of Sanjiwani Hospital. The method in this study is the provision of nursing care to Mr.R and Mr.B for 1x1 hour with deep breath relaxation therapy intervention and innovation intervention giving handheld finger relaxation. The result of the nursing care analysis showed that handheld finger relaxation can reduce the anxiety in Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia patients with preoperative TURP.
