Abstract
Newborns have a body temperature regulation mechanism that is not functioning properly so that babies are susceptible to hypothermia. This study aims to determine the description of body temperature levels in normal newborns at Karangasem Hospital in 2021. This research is a descriptive study with a quantitative approach, the sample of this study amounted to 74 normal newborns. The type of data in this study is secondary data obtained through tracing medical records. The sampling technique used is probability sampling, namely simple random sampling. Based on the results of research conducted by researchers, it can be concluded that the body temperature level in the first 30 minutes after life of 74 normal newborns, namely most of them had normal body temperature levels with a total of 45 babies (60.8%). Health workers are advised to provide nursing care that works well and according to standard operating procedures so that they can maintain a newborn's body temperature within the normal range.
