Abstract
Nursing Care Ineffective Airway Clearance for Pneumonia Patients in Emergency Room Sanglah Central General Hospital Denpasar in 2021 ABSTRACT Pneumonia is an infection in the lung tissue caused by various microorganisms and can affect anyone. One of the signs and symptoms as well as the main complaint in pneumonia patients is shortness breath caused by increased production of sputum or phlegm in patient's airway so that patients have difficulty coughing to remove the sputum or phlegm. The innovation of pursed lips breathing is an alternative technique to reduce shortness of breath by helping the entry of air into the lungs. The purpose is to analyze ineffective airway clearance nursing care for pneumonia patients in the ER Sanglah Hospital Denpasar in 2021 with pursed lips breathing innovation interventions. The results is after being given nursing interventions for 1 x 2 hours the patient still complained dyspnea, not able yet to cough effectively, still had sputum production, crackles were still audible but quite decreased, still moderate dyspnea, decreased anxiety, and after given the pursed lips breathing innovation intervention, the breath frequency is quite improved, the breathing pattern is quite improved. In conclusion, after the patient is given pursed lips breathing, inspiration will be adequate, volume, alveolar pressure, and air flow will increase during inspiration.
