Abstract
Dental and oral hygiene is a condition of free teeth from debris, plaque and calculus. Dental caries is a disease characterized by severe tissue dental tissue damage. The purpose of this research is to know the description of tooth or mouth hygiene level and dental caries of fourth grade students and V SDN 3 Selumbung Manggis in 2018. This research is a descriptive study with survey design. The results of the study were 35 students, 74.3% had moderate OHI-S criteria and only 20% of students had good OHI-S criteria. The average OHI-S student is 1.89 with moderate criteria. The average DMF-T student is 1.37 classified as low category. The average DMF-T based on dental and oral hygiene levels showed that DMF-T 0.2 had a good OHI-S criterion of 20%, a mean DMF-T of 1.00 having a moderate OHI-S criterion of 74.3% and the average DMF-T 0.17 has OHI-S 5.7% bad criteria. It can be concluded that students of SDN 3 Selumbung Manggis mostly have moderate OHI-S criteria with an average OHI-S student of 1.89. The average DMF-T student is 1.37 classified as low category. The average DMF-T based on the level of oral hygiene and mouth was found that the majority of the students that is 74.3% had moderate OHI-S with average. DMF-T 1.00. Students with good OHI-S criteria were as high as 20% with mean DMF-T 0.2 and students with poor OHI-S as much as 5.7% with average DMF-T 0.17. Keywords: dental and oral hygiene, dental caries
