Abstract

ABSTRACT The community's self-preservation behavior in dental and oral hygiene care is the indicator of brushing, while tooth brushing is the primary prevention measure recommended. The Indonesian people's self-preservation behavior in oral health is still very low. The purpose of this study is to know the behavior of toothbrushing on civil servants and civil registration office 2018. The method used is descriptive research with observational design and survey design using the total population of 54 respondents. The results showed that as many as three respondents (5.6%) brushed their teeth with very good criteria, 13 respondents (24.1%) brushed their teeth with good criteria, 20 respondents (37%) brushed with enough criteria, 18 respondents (33,3%) with the criteria need guidance and the average tooth brushing behavior is in need guidance criteria. Employees are expected to brush their teeth in the right way and at the right time and check the teeth at least six months to monitor dental and oral health.
