Abstract

Snacks for school children are being given special attention, because in addition to being consumed by school children who are the younger generation there are also many dangers that lurk from the consumption of these snacks. School children usually have the habit of consuming high-calorie and low-fiber snacks, making it very vulnerable to nutritional problems such as obesity, thinness, and failure to thrive. The purpose of this study was to determine the description of snack habits and nutritional status of school children and identify types of snacks for school children, identify the frequency of snacks for school children, determine the contribution of nutrients from snacks to the daily consumption of school children and illustrate the relationship between snack consumption and nutritional status. This type of research uses literature review that is related to the topics that researchers discuss. The subjects in the search are school children. How to collect libraries through two databases, namely (Ejournal and Eprint) which are sought from 2009 - 2019. Descriptive analysis method that processes data by describing data summarizes data scientifically. Library search results obtained 5 libraries that match the inclusion criteria related to the topic discussed. The conclusion of this literature search shows that the real relationship between snacking habits and nutritional status of snacks. Obese and obese children tend to have higher contribution from snacks than normal nutritional status children. Keywords: Nutritional Status, Snack Habits, Nutritional Contributions
