Abstract
In 2017 the elderly in Indonesia is 23.66 million. 90% of elderly experiencing pain from rheumatoid arthritis. The impacts of rheumatoid arthritis are joint damage and disability. This study aims to describe the nursing care of the elderly rheumatoid arthritis with chronic pain in the region of Public Health Unit Sukawati I in 2018. This type of research is descriptive research with case study design. Techniques of collecting data through interviews, observation and documentation. Subjects used were 2 elderly people of rheumatoid arthritis with chronic pain in Banjar Pamesan. The approach used the nursing process of assessment, diagnosis, intervention, implementation and evaluation. The assessment results obtained pain is more than 6 months, the pain scale 4 to the client 1 and the scale 3 on the client 2. Diagnosis enforced is chronic pain. Nursing implementations that have been done are ginger cream twice a day after take a bath. Evaluation of the results obtained to a decrease in pain intensity on a client 1 that is on the scale of 4 to a scale of 2, while the second client of the scale 3 to scale 1. Advice to clients reduce strenuous activity, regularly taking the drug, and ginger cream with good conduct.
