Abstract

Abstract : One effort to deal with the spread of HIV / AIDS in adolescents today is to equip adolescents with knowledge about HIV / AIDS through counseling. The purpose of this study was to determine differences in knowledge of adolescents before and after counseling about the prevention and transmission of Human Immunodeficiency Virus and Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome using video media. This research is a literature review study using five international journals and five national journals. The results of the study identified these journals found that there are differences in knowledge of adolescents before and after counseling HIV / AIDS using video. Interventions using video is more effective for increasing adolescent. Video counseling can increase adolescent knowledge about HIV / AIDS so as to reduce the spread of infection. Health education through video media has advantages in terms of providing good visualization so as to facilitate the process of absorption of knowledge. It is expected that adolescents will pay more attention to reproductive health and participate in the health education program launched by the government related to HIV / AIDS prevention and transmission.
