Abstract
Knowledge is the result of knowing, and this happens after people have sensed a certain object. Dental hygiene is one of the factors that influence dental health. Measuring oral hygiene is used an index known as the Oral Hygiene Index Simplified (OHI-S). The purpose of this study was to determine Knowledge of Dental Hygiene Maintenance and Oral and Dental Hygiene in Class III Students of SDN 9 Sesetan in 2019. This type of research is a descriptive study with 18 respondents. The type of data collected in this study is secondary data in the form of a direct assessment of the level of knowledge about maintenance of oral and dental hygiene and the results of OHI-S examination. From the results of research conducted on 18 grade II students of SDN 9 Sesetan showed that the level of knowledge of dental and oral hygiene maintenance in SDN 9 Sesetan with the highest number of 8 people (44.44%) with good category, the average student knowledge about hygiene maintenance teeth and mouth 73,67 with good category. The results of the OHI-S research with the highest percentage with moderate criteria are 11 people (61.11%) with an average OHI-S of 1.41 with medium criteria. Based on the results of this study it can be concluded that most students have a good level of category knowledge, OHI-S with moderate criteria.
