Abstract
Indonesia is a developing country that still faces serious problems regarding stunting. Stunting is a condition of failure to thrive in children under five due to chronic malnutrition so that the child is too short for his age. Stunting in toddlers is characterized by symptoms including, a child having a shorter body than a child his age, the proportion of the body that tends to be nomal but the child looks smaller than his age, low body weight for children his age, delayed bone growth of children (Ema Puspita, 2018), and calcium and phosphorus which play an important role in bone formation. Low levels of consumption of protein, energy and calcium affect the nutritional status of children. This condition causes underfive feeding to be less good in terms of quality and quantity so that children are prone to stunting (Widyaningsih, 2018). Consumption of protein, energy and calcium greatly affects stunting toddlers, because the role of protein is very important for toddler growth and to strengthen the toddler's immune system. Besides the role of calcium for toddlers is also very important, namely for growth. Consumption level is the amount of food consumed divided by needs multiplied by 100% (Hanum, 2017). In 2013 and 2018 the proportion of nutritional status was very short and short among toddlers in Bangli district at 43.2%. Objective: To determine the relationship of the level of protein and calcium consumption in stunting toddlers. This research is a literature review that seeks a database of various references, such as research journals, and data relating to the level of protein and calcium consumption in stunting toddlers.
