Abstract
Primary dysmenorrhea is pain during menstruation that is felt before or together with the onset of menstruation. Body Mass Index is one way to determine nutritional status by comparing body weight and height. This study aims to determine the description of body mass index in the incidence of dysmenorrhea in the Vocational High School Panca Atma Jaya Klungkung. This type of research is descriptive with a cross-sectional design conducted on 30 students. Data obtained online using google form. The results of the study found respondents who had an underweight body mass index of 20% with 13.3% experiencing dysmenorrhea and 6.7% did not experience dysmenorrhea. The number of respondents who had a normal Body Mass Index was 66.7% with 36.7% experiencing dysmenorrhea and 30% not experiencing dysmenorrhea. The number of respondents who had an overweight body mass index of 10% and all had dysmenorrhea while the number of respondents who had an obese body mass index of 3.3% all had dysmenorrhea. It can be concluded that most of the students had a normal category of body mass index and had primary dysmenorrhea. The researcher can continue the research further by using more respondents and collecting data directly, not online, in order to filter respondents according to established criteria, while also adding other factors that can cause primary dysmenorrhea.
