Abstract

Bus drivers usually have bad habit for their health such as drink water a little, hold urination, lot of sitting and have a little movement for a long time in the bus is a risk of kidney disease that causes decreased kidney function. Decreased kidney function can also be caused by elevated serum urea and creatinine levels. This study is a descriptive research, which aims to determine the level of serum urea and creatinine in bus drivers at Terminal Mengwi. The study was conducted in March to June 2018. The sample of the study was 32 bus drivers selected by random sampling. The serum urea examination method is urease-GLDH and serum creatinine method is Jaffe method compensated. The results showed that 13% of bus drivers had high levels of serum urea and creatinine. Highest levels of urea and creatinine occur in groups of drivers with an age range of 41-65 years. Based on the above results, it can be concluded that most bus drivers have normal levels of serum urea and creatinine. To the bus driver, is expected to apply a healthy lifestyle and perform laboratory tests related to kidney function. Keywords: bus driver, kidney, serum urea, serum creatinin Sopir bus memiliki kebiasaan yang buruk bagi kesehatan seperti sedikit minum, sering menahan buang air kemih, sering duduk dan sedikit bergerak dalam waktu yang cukup lama di bus merupakan salah satu risiko terjadinya penyakit ginjal yang menyebabkan penurunan fungsi ginjal. Penurunan fungsi ginjal juga dapat disebabkan dengan peningkatan kadar ureum dan kreatinin dalam serum. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif, yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran kadar ureum dan kreatinin pada sopir bus di Terminal Mengwi. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan Maret sampai dengan Juni 2018. Sampel penelitian adalah sebanyak 32 orang sopir bus yang dipilih secara random sampling. Metode pemeriksaan ureum serum yaitu urease-GLDH dan metode pemeriksaan kreatinin serum yaitu Jaffe method compensated. Hasil penelitian menunjukan terdapat 13% sopir bus memiliki kadar ureum dan kreatinin yang tinggi. Kadar ureum dan kreatinin tinggi paling banyak terjadi pada kelompok sopir dengan rentang usia 41-65 tahun. Berdasarkan hasil diatas, dapat disimpulkan bahwa sebagian besar sopir bus memiliki kadar ureum dan kreatinin yang normal. Kepada sopir bus, diharapkan untuk menerapkan pola hidup sehat dan melakukan pemeriksaan laboratorium terkait fungsi ginjal. Kata kunci: sopir bus, ginjal, ureum, kreatinin
