Abstract
COPD is a chronic inflammatory disease of the respiratory tract and lungs causing a progressive and progressive airflow resistance that is a response to harmful gases. The nursing problem that appear in COPD patients is ineffective airway clearance caused by hypersecretion mucus in the airway, this problem can be overcome with effective cough therapy. The purpose of this study was to determine the description of nursing care giving effective cough procedures to overcome the ineffective airway clearance in patients with COPD in the Dahlia Room Tabanan Hospital 2018.The type of research used is a descriptive study with case study design to present-two patients with COPD were observed in depth by observing the patient's nursing document then compare the results of observation of patient's document with the reference theory of the researcher. The results of research showed that, almost there are similarities of two COPD with nursing problem ineffective airway clearence in documenting of nursing care in the room. there are some differences from the theory used as a reference by researchers with the results of documenting nursing care in the room, namely on assessment, diagnosis, intervention, implementation, evaluation. The results of this study are expected to provide an understanding of nurses in providing optimal nursing care, especially in the provision of effective cough measures to ineffective airway clearance
