Abstract
ISOLATION AND IDENTIFICATION OF Candida albicans IN URINE OF PREGNANT WOMAN AT RSUD MANGUSADA BADUNG ABSTRACT Pregnancy is one of the factors that triggers Candidiasis. During pregnancy there are changes in the hormonal system within the body along with the changes of pH levels in the vagina. The change of pH in the vagina can increase Candida albicans growth. The objective of this study is to isolate and identification the existence of Candida albicans in the urine which taken from urine samples of pregnant woman in Mangusada Hospital, Badung. This study is descriptive study by using the cross-sectional approach. The samples were obtained by Purposive Sampling technique. The urine samples were cultured in Saboraud Dextrose Agar. The fungus colony which grew will be microscopically identified and tested by germ tube test. There were 20% from the thirty samples show the positive result for the existence of Candida albicans with the characteristics of round shaped displays a white and yellow exterior along with a smooth consistency and smells like yeast. Microscopic test was performed and reflected in yeast, pseudohifa, chlamydospore, blastospore, and germ tube being present. The conclution of this results proved that there were Candida albicans in the urine of six pregnant woman in Mangusada Hospital, Badung. Keywords: Urine, Pregnant woman, Candida albicans ISOLASI DAN IDENTIFIKASI JAMUR Candida albicans PADA URINE IBU HAMIL DI RSUD MANGUSADA BADUNG ABSTRAK Kehamilan merupakan salah satu faktor predisposisi kandidiasis. Pada kehamilan terjadi perubahan humoral pada tubuh dan pH pada vagina. Perubahan pH ini dapat menyebabkan meningkatnya pertumbuhan jamur Candida albicans. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengisolasi dan mengidentifikasi jamur Candida albicans pada sampel urine ibu hamil di RSUD Mangusada Badung. Penelitian ini dilakukan secara deskriptif dengan pendekatan cross sectional. Teknik pengambilan sampel dengan menggunakan Purposive Sampling. Sampel urin dikultur pada media SDA. Koloni yang tumbuh diidentifikasi secara mikroskopis dan diuji germ tube. Hasil identifikasi menunjukkan dari 30 sampel urin, 6 (20%) positif terdapat jamur Candida albicans dengan karakteristik koloni berbentuk bulat, berwarna putih kekuningan/cream, konsistensi lembut, permukaan koloni halus dan berbau khas ragi. Pada pemeriksaan mikroskopis ditemukan adanya ragi, pseudohifa, klamidospora, blastospora dan germ tube. Nilai persentase tersebut menunjukkan kejadian adanya jamur Candida albicans pada urine ibu hamil di Poliklinik Kebidanan dan Kandungan RSUD Mngusada Badung sehingga diharapkan ibu hamil selalu menjaga higiene perorangan serta rutin melakukan pemeriksaan mikrobiologi.
