Abstract
CHARACTERISTICS OF HEAD HOUSEHOLDS BEHAVING OPEN DEFECATION ABSTRACT Wanasari hamlet is one of the hamlets in Dauh Puri Kaja Village, North Denpasar District, there are 41 head households still don’t have latrines so they are open defecation in river. The purpose of this research to know the characteristics of head householdsbehaving open defecation in Wanasari Hamlet, Dauh Puri Kaja Village, North Denpasar District. This type of the research is survey research. The results of the study were respondents have sufficient knowledge 28 head households (68.3%), less knowledge 8 head households (19.2%), and good knowledge 5 head households (12.5%). Respondents have enough attitudes were 23 head households (56.8%), attitudes were less than 18 head households (43.2%), and neither were there. Respondents have elementary education were 27 head households (65.4%), high school 5 head households (12.5%), junior high school 4 head households (9.6%), non-school 3 head households (7.7%) and graduated from academies / colleges 2 head households (4.8%). Respondents have sufficient income were 25 head households (60.6%) and income was less than 16 households (39.4%). Respondent indicated that the support of community leaders stated that there were enough 36 head households (87.5%), both 5 head households (12.5%), and lacking none. The advice to the community is that they are expected to adopt clean and healthy lifestyle by not defecating carelessly. The key word : behavior, open defecation KARAKTERISTIK KEPALA KELUARGA YANG BERPERILAKU BUANG AIR BESAR SEMBARANGAN ABSTRAK Dusun Wanasari merupakan salah satu dusun di Desa Dauh Puri Kaja Kecamatan Denpasar Utara terdapat 41 KK yang masih belum memiliki jamban sehingga melakukan BABS. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui karakteristik kepala keluarga yang berperilaku BABS di Dusun Wanasari Desa Dauh Puri Kaja Kecamatan Denpasar Utara. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian survei. Hasil penelitian yaitu responden yang memiliki pengetahuan cukup 28 KK (68,3%), pengetahuan kurang 8 KK (19,2%), dan pengetahuan baik 5 KK (12,5%). Responden yang memiliki sikap cukup sebanyak 23 KK (56,8%), sikap kurang 18 KK (43,2%), dan sikap baik tidak ada. Responden yang memiliki pendidikan SD 27 KK (65,4%), SMA 5 KK (12,5%), SMP 4 KK (9,6%), Tidak Sekolah 3 KK (7,7%) dan Tamat Akademi/Perguruan Tinggi 2 KK (4,8%). Responden yang memiliki pendapatan cukup 25 KK (60,6%) dan pendapatan kurang 16 KK (39,4%). Responden yang menunjukkan bahwa dukungan tokoh masyarakat yang menyatakan cukup 36 KK (87,5%), baik 5 KK (12,5%), dan kurang tidak ada. Simpulan dari penelitian KK terbanyak memiliki pengetahuan cukup 28 KK (68,3%), sikap cukup 23 KK (56,8%), pendidikan SD 27 KK (65,4%), pendapatan cukup 25 KK (60,6%), dan dukungan tokoh masyarakat yang menyatakan cukup 36 KK (87,5%). Disarankan masyarakat menerapkan perilaku hidup bersih dan sehat dengan tidak melakukan BABS. Kata kunci : perilaku, BABS
