Abstract

THE EFFECT OF EXPRESSIVE WRITING THERAPY ON ANXIETY LEVELS OF PLWHA (PEOPLE LIVING WITH HIV/ AIDS) IN YAYASAN SPIRIT PARAMACITTA DENPASAR ON 2019 ABSTRACT HIV / AIDS is an infectious disease caused by a human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) that damages the immune system. HIV / AIDS causes physical and psychological problems in the sufferer. The psychological problem that is often experienced by PLWHA is anxiety. Anxiety is a feeling that is often experienced because of fear of weakness. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of expressive writing therapy on anxiety levels in PLWHA at the Denpasar Paramacitta Spirit Foundation. This study used a type of pre-experimental design with the design of one group pretest-posttest. The number of samples in this study were 16 people who were selected by the probability sampling technique type of simple random sampling. The results showed that the level of anxiety before being given expressive writing therapy was mostly in the category of moderate anxiety as many as 15 people (93.75%), after being given expressive writing therapy there was a decrease in anxiety levels to a low category of 12 people (75%). The results of this study were tested by Wilcoxon statistical test, obtained results (p) = 0.001 (p <0.05), it can be concluded that there is an effect of espressive writing therapy towards the level of anxiety of PLWHA (People Living With Hiv/ Aids) at the Spirit Paramacitta Foundation Denpasar in 2019. Keywords: PLWHA, anxiety, expressive writing therapy PENGARUH TERAPI MENULIS EKSPRESIS TERHADAP TINGKAT KECEMASAN PADA ODHA DI YAYASAN SPIRIT PARAMACITTA DENPASAR TAHUN 2019 ABSTRAK HIV/AIDS merupakan penyakit menular yang disebabkan oleh virus Human Immunodefificiency Virus (HIV) yang merusak sistem kekebalan tubuh. Penyakit HIV/AIDS menimbulkan masalah fisik dan psikologi pada penderitanya. Masalah psikologi yang sering dialami ODHA adalah kecemasan. Kecemasan merupakan perasaan yang sering dialami karena ketakutan akan kelemahan yang dimiliki. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh terapi menulis ekspresif terhadap tingkat kecemasan pada ODHA di Yayasan Spirit Paramacitta Denpasar. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian pre-eksperimental design dengan rancangan one group pretest-posttest. Jumlah sampel pada penelitian ini sebanyak 16 orang yang dipilih dengan teknik probability sampling jenis simple random sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tingkat kecemasan sebelum diberikan terapi menulis ekspresif sebagian besar berada pada kategori cemas sedang yaitu sebanyak 15 orang (93,75%), setelah diberikan terapi menulis ekspresif terdapat penurunan tingkat kecemasan menjadi kategori ringan sebanyak 12 orang (75%). Hasil penelitian ini diuji dengan uji statistik wilcoxon, didapat hasil (p) = 0,001 (p < 0,05) maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa ada pengaruh terapi menulis espresif terhadap tingkat kecemasan pada ODHA di Yayasan Spirit Paramacitta Denpasar Tahun 2019.
