Abstract

NURSING CARE FOR MRS. L WITH SLEEP PATTERN DISTURBANCE DUE TO POSTPARTUM STATUS IN THE POSTPARTUM WARD OF BALI MANDARA REGIONAL GENERAL HOSPITAL (RSUD) 2026 ABSTRACT The postpartum period is a recovery phase after childbirth that is often accompanied by various physiological and psychological changes, including sleep pattern disturbances. These disturbances may be caused by physical factors such as post-surgical pain, hormonal changes, and infant care activities, as well as psychological factors such as stress and anxiety. This case study aimed to describe nursing care for patient Ms. L with sleep pattern disturbance in the postpartum ward of Bali Mandara Hospital in 2026. The method used was a case study approach based on the nursing process, including, diagnosis, intervention, implementation, and evaluation. The assessment results showed that the patient experienced difficulty sleeping, frequent awakenings, and dissatisfaction with sleep quality. Interventions included activity and rest education as well as relaxation techniques such as deep breathing and acupressure. After nursing care was provided, there was an improvement in sleep quality, indicated by reduced complaints and increased activity levels. It can be concluded that appropriate nursing interventions can effectively manage sleep disturbances in postpartum mothers.
