Abstract
Asthma is one of serious global healty issues. One of the therapies used to reduce asthma symptoms in children was by giving breathing relaxation with the balloon blowing technique whichis can increase oxygen saturation. The purpose of this study was to study the effect of relaxation by balloon blowing techniques on oxygen saturation in asthmatic children at Klungkung General Hospital. The study design used a pre-experimental with a one group pretest-posttest design. The selection of the number of samples using purposive sampling method with the number of respondents was 37 people. The study was conducted in April to May 2019. Data collection was done by measuring oxygen saturation using pulse oximetry. The average oxygen saturation before treatment was 93.22% and after treatment was 97.43% with an average difference before and after treatmentwas 4.21%. Bivariate test using statistical test paired-samples t test with a p value of 0,001 <α (α = 0,05). Based on the result hypothesis 0 were rejected so can be concluded that theres aneffect of respiratory relaxation with balloon blowing techniques to oxygen saturation in asthmatic children. According to the result it was suggested that respiratory relaxation with balloon blowing technique scan be applied to increase oxygen saturation so it can increases the recovery of children with asthma.
