Abstract

THE EFFECT OF WARM MORINGA LEAF COMPRESSES ON THE INTENSITYOF GOUT ARTHRITIS PAIN AMONG THE ELDERLY IN THE SERVICE AREA OF THE KUTA UTARA COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTER IN 2026 ABSTRACT Gout arthritis is an inflammatory joint disease caused by the accumulation of uric acid crystals, which often causes pain in the elderly. One non-pharmacological therapy that can be used to reduce pain is a warm moringa leaf compress. This study aims to determine the effect of warm moringa leaf compresses on reducing Gout arthritis pain in the elderly in the service area of the Kuta Utara Community Health Center (UPTD Puskesmas) in 2026. This study employed a quasi-experimental design using a pretest-posttest with a control group approach. The study sample consisted of 35 respondents selected using total sampling and divided into an intervention group and a control group. Pain intensity was measured using the Numeric Rating Scale (NRS). Data analysis utilized the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test and the Mann-Whitney U Test with a significance level of p < 0.05. The results showed that the median pain score in the intervention group before the application of warm moringa leaf compresses was 6.00 and decreased to 4.00 after the intervention. The Wilcoxon test results showed a p-value <0.001, indicating a significant difference in pain levels before and after the intervention. The results of the Mann-Whitney test showed a p-value of 0.493 (p > 0.05), indicating no significant difference in effectiveness between the intervention group and the control group. Warm moringa leaf compresses can help reduce pain in elderly patients with gouty arthritis. Salah satu terapi nonfarmakologis yang dapat digunakan untuk mengurangi nyeri yaitu kompres hangat daun kelor. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh kompres hangat daun kelor terhadap penurunan nyeri Gout arthritis pada lansia di wilayah kerja UPTD Puskesmas Kuta Utara Tahun 2026. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain quasi experimental dengan pendekatan pretest-posttest with control group design. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 35 responden yang dipilih menggunakan teknik total sampling dan dibagi menjadi kelompok perlakuan dan kelompok kontrol. Intensitas nyeri diukur menggunakan Numeric Rating Scale (NRS). Analisis data menggunakan uji Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test dan Mann Whitney U Test dengan tingkat kemaknaan p<0,05. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan median nyeri pada kelompok perlakuan sebelum pemberian kompres hangat daun kelor sebesar 6,00 dan sesudah perlakuan menurun menjadi 4,00. Hasil uji Wilcoxon menunjukkan nilai p-value <0,001 yang berarti terdapat perbedaan tingkat nyeri sebelum dan sesudah perlakuan. Hasil uji Mann Whitney menunjukkan nilai p-value sebesar 0,493 (p>0,05) sehingga tidak terdapat perbedaan efektivitas yang signifikan antara kelompok perlakuan dan kelompok kontrol. Kompres hangat daun kelor dapat membantu menurunkan nyeri Gout arthritis pada lansia. Kata kunci: gout, hangat, kompres, lansia, nyeri
