Abstract

Hearing disorder are people with physical limitations in hear and are usually followed by speech disorders. This limitation is one of the obstacles to gaining knowledge and lack of information on how to maintain dental and oral hygiene. This study aims to determine the description of dental and oral hygiene in junior high school students with hearing disorder in SLB negeri 1 badung year 2019. This research is a descriptive study with survey design. This study does not use samples, but total population. The types of data collected are primary and secondary data. The characteristics of the research subjects based on sex were male students totaling 23 people and female students totaling 35 people. The results showed 58 junior high school students in Badung 1 SLB had dental and oral hygiene with an average OHI-S of 2.32. Percentage of hearing disorderwho have dental and oral hygiene with a good category of 8 people (14%), medium category amounted to 39 (67%), and bad category 11 people (19%). Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that most Exceptional children have oral and dental hygiene with moderate criteria.
