Abstract

Dental hygiene is an integral part of health. In addition to the teeth is one of the digestive organ that play an important role in the process of mastication so that maintenance of dental health is important. Dental and oral diseases are commonly found in the community is dental caries and dental tissue supporting disease. One alternative in the effort to improve oral health is through dental polyclinik.The purpose of this study was to determine the description of tooth decay in patien who visit the poly dental health center TNI Angkatan Laut Denpasar in 2018. The type of this research is descriptive research using total population.The data used are secondary data collected from daily poly dental register of health center TNI Angkatan Laut Denpasar in 2018. Results shower that based on sex, the frequency of patien who visited the poly dental health center TNI Angkatan Laut Denpasar caries in women more than men that is 62,5% in women and 37,5% in men. Based on the severity of caries, the frequency of necrose pulpae caries was 97 cases, hyperaemia pulpa 49 cases, pulpitis 35 cases, and Irritation pulpae 19 cases. Based on the type of teeth most commonly affected by caries, the most common primary teeth in mandibular second molar teeth 9 cases whereas the tooth remains most common in the mandibuler first molars of 42 cases. Conclusion this shows that patients tend to come to dental poles when the toothache is severe. Of the Denpasar Naval Health Center conducted counseling on maintain dental and oral health about how to maintain dental and oral health, especiallity the right teeth and the right time.
