Abstract

Oral and dental health plays an important role in the growth and development of children, this is influenced by how to maintain dental and oral hygiene in children to achieve a good level of dental and oral hygiene. The purpose of this research were to know the description of the level of dental and oral hygiene in fifth grade studen elementary scholl 1 karangasem year 2019. The method of this research is a descriptive with survey design. The research conducted in elementary school 1 Karangsem on May 2019. The population of this research was all students in fifth grade which amounted 63 students. The research used total population. The results of this research are percentage of the most highest OHI-S are in fair criteria (63,50 %), in good criteria (33,33 %), and in poor criteria (3,17 %). The average OHI-S 1,44 with fair criteria. The average OHI-S of boy 1,54 and girls 1,23. Conclusions of the study: the level of dental and oral hygiene of class V students of Karangasem 1 Elementary School namely medium criteria Key words: The level of dental and oral hygiene, Elementary School Students
