Abstract

IMPLEMENTATION OF WARM MORINGA LEAF COMPRESS THERAPY IN THE ELDERLY TO REDUCE PAIN LEVELS GOUT ARTHRITIS IN THE WORK AREA PUSKESMAS 1 SOUTH DENPASAR Putu Alya Sertinia Putri Diploma III Study Program, Health Polytechnic, Ministry of Health, Denpasar Email: [email protected] ABSTRACT One disease that is often suffered by the elderly is gout arthritis (gout). Typical symptoms of gouty arthritis are complaints of pain, swelling, and signs of inflammation in the metatarsalphalangeal joint of the big toe. Non-medical treatment can now be done by giving warm compress therapy which can be combined with Moringa leaves. The aim of this research is to determine the implementation of giving warm Moringa leaf compress therapy to the elderly to reduce the level of pain due to gouty arthritis. This type of research is descriptive with a descriptive case study research strategy. Participation in this research was 1 person who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. This research instrument uses a nursing care format, pain assessment sheet and SOP for warm Moringa leaf compresses. The results of this scientific work were obtained from Mrs. T with cases of gouty arthritis who experienced acute pain problems there was a decrease in the level of pain, where before being given the warm moringa leaf compress intervention the patient's pain scale was 6 and after being given the moringa leaf warm compress intervention for 3 days the patient's pain scale was 4. This can be concluded that the warm compress Moringa leaves are effective for reducing pain in gouty arthritis patients. Gejala yang khas pada gout arthritis adalah adanya keluhan nyeri, bengkak, dan terdapat tanda-tanda inflamasi pada sendi metatarsalphalangeal ibu jari kaki. Penanganan non medis kini dapat dilakukan dengan pemberian terapi kompres hangat yang bisa dikombinasikan dengan daun kelor. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui implementasi pemberian terapi kompres hangat daun kelor pada lansia untuk menurunkan tingkat nyeri akibat gout arthritis. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif dengan strategi penelitian deskriptif studi kasus. Partisipasi dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 1 orang yang telah memenuhi kriteria inklusi dan ekslusi. Instrumen penelitian ini menggunakan format asuhan keperawatan, lembar pengkajian nyeri dan SOP kompres hangat daun kelor. Hasil karya ilmiah ini didapatkan pada Ny. T dengan kasus gout arthritis yang mengalami masalah nyeri akut terjadi penurunan tingkat nyeri, dimana sebelum diberikan intervensi kompres hangat daun kelor skala nyeri pasien 6 dan setelah diberikan intervensi kompres hangat daun kelor selama 3 hari skala nyeri menjadi 4. Hal ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa kompres hangat daun kelor efektif untuk menurunkan nyeri pada pasien gout arthitis. Kata kunci: Gout arthitis, Nyeri akut
