Abstract
RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN BODY MASS INDEXS AND THE INCIDENCE OH PRIMARY DYSMENORRHEA IN CLASS VII JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT 1 BLAHBATUH ABSTRACT Primary dysmenorrhea is menstrual pain that occurs repeatedly due to the menstrual cycle itself without being related to certain diseases. One of the factors that affect primary dysmenorrhea is BMI (body mass index). This study aims to determine the relationship between body mass index and the incidence of primary dysmenorrhea in class VII students of SMP Negeri 1 Blahbatuh. This type of research is descriptive with a cross-sectional approach which was conducted on 68 female students. This study looked for a relationship between the independent variable body mass index and the dependent variable primary dysmenorrhea. Data obtained by direct measurement and using a questionnaire. The results of the study showed that respondents had an underweight body mass index of 27.9%, a normal body mass index of 60.3% and an overweight body mass index of 11.8%. Students who experience dysmenorrhea are 66.2% and students who do not experience dysmenorrhea are 33.8%. It can be concluded that there is a relationship between body mass index and the incidence of dysmenorrhea in class VII students of SMP Negeri 1 Blahbatuh. It is hoped that this research can provide input for education on how to prevent and reduce primary dysmenorrhea in adolescents, because the education provided can reduce and add insight into adolescents so that it can reduce the incidence of primary dysmenorrhea in adolescents. Keywords: Body Mass Index, Primary Dysmenorrhea
