Abstract
DESCRIPTION OF URIC ACID LEVELS IN THE ELDERLY AT THE WANA SERAYA TRESNA WERDHA SOCIAL HOME IN EAST DENPASAR ABSTRAK In Indonesia, the number of elderly people continues to increase. Data from the Central Bureau of Statistics of Bali Province in 2023, recorded in the age group 60-64 years as many as 216,500 people, age 65-69 years as many as 163,800 people, age 70-74 years as many as 115,400 people and at the age of over 75 years as many as 132,100 people. Uric acid is the end result of the metabolism (breakdown) of a substance called purine. Uric acid is the waste product of this purine substance. The purpose of this study was to determine uric acid levels in the elderly at the Wana Seraya Tresna Werdha Social Home. This type of research is descriptive. Uric acid levels were measured using the stick method with the Esay Touch GCU tool. The population of this study were all elderly people who were in the Tresna Werdha Wana Seraya social institution, the research sample was taken from the total population of 30 respondents. The sampling technique used was total sampling. The results of this study indicate that most respondents have uric acid levels in the normal category, as many as 18 respondents (60%) and respondents in the high category as many as 12 respondents (40%). Keywords : Uric Acid Level. Elderly GAMBARAN KADAR ASAM URAT PADA LANSIA DI PANTI SOSIAL TRESNA WERDHA WANA SERAYA DENPASAR TIMUR ABSTRAK Di Indonesia, jumlah lansia terus mengalami peningkatan. Data dari Badan Pusat Statistik Provinsi Bali tahun 2023, tercatat pada kelompok usia 60-64 tahun sebanyak 216.500 jiwa, usia 65-69 tahun sebanyak 163.800 jiwa, usia 70-74 tahun sebanyak 115.400 jiwa dan pada usia diatas 75 tahun sebanyak 132.100 jiwa. Asam urat adalah hasil akhir dari metabolisme (pemecahan) suatu zat yang bernama pu�rin. Asam urat merupkan hasil buangan dari zat purin ini. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui kadar asam urat pada lansia di Panti Sosial Tresna Werdha Wana Seraya. Jenis peneliatian ini adalah deskriptif. Kadar asam urat diukur menggunakan metode stick dengan alat Esay Touch GCU. Populasi penelitian ini adalah semua lansia yang berada di Panti sosial Tresna Werdha Wana Seraya,sampel penelitian diambil dari total populasi yaitu sebanyak 30 responden. Tekniksampling yang digunakan adalah total sampling. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar responden memiliki kadar asamurat dalam kategori normal yaitu sebanyak 18 responden (60%) dan responden dalam kategori tinggi sebanyak 12 responden (40%).
