Abstract
DESCRIPTION OF TOTAL CHOLESTEROL LEVELS IN THE ELDERLY IN TUMBAK BAYUH VILLAGE, MENGWI DISTRICT BADUNG REGENCY ABSTRACT Cholesterol is a fatty substance that circulates in the blood produced by the liver and is needed by the body, but excess cholesterol will cause fatal problems, especially in the blood vessels of the heart and brain. Many elderly people suffer from cholesterol due to aging, even if they play sports. Because receptor activity decreases with age, total cholesterol levels are relatively higher in older people than in young people. this study aims to describe total cholesterol levels in the elderly in Tumbak Bayuh Village, Mengwi sub-district, Badung Regency in 2023. this research was conducted in March - April, the type of research was descriptive, the sampling technique was simple random sampling of 42 respondents, this study used the Point Of Care Testing (POCT) method. Total cholesterol levels in the elderly threshold were 13 people (31.0%), the highest age was in the age group (68-75) the threshold category was 7 people (38.9), based on gender, the highest was in women, 5 people ( 22.7%) and for men the highest threshold was 7 people (35.0%), based on BMI obesity in the high category there were 4 people (44.4%), and the normal characteristics of the threshold category were 7 people (31 ,8%). the highest total cholesterol level in the elderly is the threshold of 13 people (31.0%), ages (68 – 75) as many as 7 people (38.9%), in women 5 people (22.7%), and in BMI A total of 7 people (31.8%). Key words: Elderly, total cholesterol GAMBARAN KADAR KOLESTEROL TOTAL PADA LANSIA DI DESA TUMBAK BAYUH KECAMATAN MENGWI KABUPATEN BADUNG ABSTRAK Kolesterol adalah suatu zat lemak yang beredar di dalam darah diproduksi oleh hati dan diperlukan oleh tubuh, akan tetapi kolesterol berlebih akan menimbulkan masalah fatal terutama pada pembuluh darah jantung dan otak. Banyak orang lanjut usia yang menderita kolesterol karena faktor usia, bahkan jika mereka berolahraga, Karena aktivitas reseptor berkurang seiring bertambahnya usia, kadar kolesterol total relatif lebih tinggi pada orang tua daripada orang muda. penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran kadar kolesterol total pada Lansia di Desa Tumbak Bayuh, kecamatan Mengwi, Kabupaten Badung tahun 2023. penelitian ini di lakukan pada Bulan Maret – April, jenis penelitian yaitu deskritif, Teknik pengambilan sampel simple random sampling sebanyak 42 responden, penelitian ini menggunakan metode Point Of Care Testing (POCT). kadar kolesterol total pada lansia ambang batas sebanyak 13 orang (31,0%), usia terbanyak pada usia (68 – 75) kategori ambang batas sebanyak 7 orang (38,9), berdasarkan jenis kelamin terbanyak adalah tinggi pada perempuan sebanyak 5 orang (22,7%) dan pada laki – laki terbanyak adalah ambang batas sebanyak 7 orang (35,0%), berdasarkan IMT obesitas kategori tinggi sebanyak 4 orang (44,4%), dan karakteristik normal kategori ambang batas sebanyak 7 orang (31,8%). kadar kolesterol total lansia terbanyak adalah ambang batas sebanyak 13 orang (31,0%), usia (68 – 75) sebanyak 7 orang (38,9%), pada perempuan 5 orang (22,7%), dan pada IMT Sebanyak 7 orang (31,8%).
