Abstract

BACTERIA IDENTIFICATION Staphylococcus aureus ON THE HANDS OF THE NURSE IN THE INTENSIVE CARE UNIT RSUD TABANAN ABSTRACT Healthcare Associated Infections (HAIs) or nosocomial infection is an infection related to health services in hospitals. Nosocomial infections can be transmitted through body fluids, saliva/other respiratory tract fluids (droplet), or direct contact with patients or objects in the hospital. Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is one of the facilities where the prevalence of nosocomial infection is high and one of them is caused by Staphylococcus aureus. This study aims to determine the presence of Staphylococcus aureus in the hands of nurses in the ICU RSUD Tabanan. This research used a descriptive method with saturation sampling technique using samples of 18. Staphylococcus aureus isolated from Mannitol Salt Agar inoculated with hand swab samples were then identified by catalase and coagulase test. Based on this research, identification of Staphylococcus aureus on the hands of nurses in the ICU RSUD Tabanan, the age group was 31-35 years (60%), the education level was Bachelor of Nursing (50%), the length of work as a nurse was >12 years (50%), and the identification results showed that 10 out of 18 samples (56%) contained Staphylococcus aureus. IDENTIFIKASI BAKTERI Staphylococcus aureus PADA TANGAN PERAWAT DI RUANG INTENSIVE CARE UNIT RUMAH SAKIT UMUM DAERAH TABANAN ABSTRAK Healthcare Associated Infections (HAIs) atau infeksi nosokomial adalah kejadian infeksi sehubungan dengan pelayanan kesehatan di rumah sakit. Infeksi nosokomial dapat ditularkan melalui cairan tubuh, air liur/cairan pernapasan lainnya (droplet), atau kontak langsung dengan pasien atau benda yang ada di rumah sakit. Intensive Care Unit (ICU) merupakan salah satu fasilitas yang diduga dapat menyebabkan infeksi dan berisiko tinggi terhadap infeksi nosokomial karena adanya Staphylococcus aureus. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keberadaan Staphylococcus aureus pada tangan perawat di ruang ICU RSUD Tabanan. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif dengan jumlah sampel yang digunakan sebanyak 18 sampel dengan teknik pengambilan sampel jenuh. Staphylococcus aureus diisolasi dari sampel swab tangan yang diinokulasi pada media kemudian diidentifikasi dengan uji katalase dan uji koagulase. Berdasarkan penelitian ini, identifikasi Staphylococcus aureus pada tangan perawat di ruang ICU RSUD Tabanan didapatkan kelompok umur 31-35 tahun (60%), tingkat pendidikan S1 Keperawatan Ners (50%), lama bekerja sebagai perawat >12 tahun (50%), dan hasil identifikasi menunjukkan 10 (56%) dari 18 sampel terdapat Staphylococcus aureus.
