Abstract
THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN MOTHER’S LEVEL OF KNOWLEDGE AND ANIMAL PROTEIN CONSUMPTION WITHSTUNTING INCIDENCE IN TODDLERS AGED 24 – 59 MONTHSIN SERAYA TIMUR VILLAGE KARANGASEM DISTRICT ABSTRACT Stunting is a condition where a child's height is less than normal height based on age and sex. Incidence of stunting can occur at the age of 24-59 months, because at that age they are already active consumers, where they can choose food. Factors causing stunting can be caused by multifactors such as parents' knowledge level, protein intake level, socioeconomic status and type of work. Protein intake is also one of the factors causing stunting because protein is an intake of macronutrients that have a function as a source of energy, building blocks and regulatory substances. If a child's protein needs are met, growth will proceed normally. The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between the level of knowledge and consumption of animal protein and the incidence of stunting in toddlers aged 24-59 months in Seraya Timur Village, Karangasem Regency. Observational research type by design Cross Sectional and using simple random sampling technique with a total of 40 people. Data was collected using interview and measurement methods. Data is presented with frequency tables and cross tables. Analysis test results spearman correlation showed that there was no significant relationship between the level of knowledge and the incidence of stunting (p=0.445; r=-0.124). Furthermore, after the same test was carried out, the result was that there was a significant relationship between consumption of animal protein and the incidence of stunting (p=0.000; r=-0.078).
